BOHO ABSTRACT ART

Bohemian, or boho, style is a free-spirited aesthetic that mixes different cultures and artistic expressions into an eclectic style with an emphasis on organic elements and nature. We think a great way to create a space in this style is to combine use of boho abstract art, mixing in textiles in patterns, adding accents in metal, wood and other organic materials, and incorporating trinkets from far-flung travels.

Boho style originated in the 19th century with the free spirits known as bohemians who were situated in Paris at the time, though many of them were actually quite nomadic and had picked up a vast array of influences along the way. As travel to places with distinct cultures increased in the 19th century, and continuing into the 20th, the term boho came to refer to the magpie style which blended different cultures and eras in clothing as well as interiors.
