Kristin Osterberg is known for her distinctive, painterly work that offers both a sense of nostalgia and calm within the swirl of current events and modern life.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design. Kristin lives and works in the New York City area. Just coming off a solo show at the Painting Center in NYC, she has shown extensively around Westchester County and was the featured artist in our gallery last fall, during which her show In Repose graced the walls. In our continuing relationship with the artist, we present a variety of Kristin Osterberg’s smaller recent works as part of our current à la maison collection. In luscious oil compositions that verge on abstraction, she evokes and plays on the traditions of still life. Shadowy, slightly haunted, her arrangements strip down life’s vignettes to their essentials. Steeped in her Scandinavian heritage, she captures families and homes in ways that suggest the tension between the personal and the nostalgic, the impersonal and the detached.
