Artist Statement:

Gaia, the personification of Earth, the ancestral mother of all life. Her great foe is Entropy, the tendency of everything in the universe toward decay, disorder, randomness, and dissolution. Gaia, fulfilling her mission to sanctify and preserve, will fight Entropy with all her might. In all my abstract work, I explore this dichotomy - the beauty of the universe even as everything within it dissolves, and the regenerative power of Mother Gaia. My intuitive paintings represent chaos, the addition of fabric often depicts some portion of decay, and the scattering of French knots and other stitching symbolize Gaia reseeding and rebuilding her universe. We see and believe victory will be hers.
